Florida here we come
May 17, 2007
Liana woke up a 4 am and was ready to go. She hopped in the cab and we were off to the airport. She enjoyed roaming the huge terminal until she met Caitlyn, a young 2 year old who was very interested in playing with Liana, i.e., running up to her and screaming excitedly. Apparantly, 5 in the morning is play time in baby world. Unfortunately, Liana didn't enjoy this too much and kept crying and running away from her. Thanks, "Caitlyn". After this happened seven or eight times, Daddy tried to get her to sleep before boarding. So we hopped in the stroller and did our best to dodge the screamer, but in true Liana fashion, sleeping wasn't in her agenda. On the plane we quickly tore our way through the backpack of toys before leaving the runway. Gotta love delays. However we finally took off and thanks to the DVD player (thanks, Kristen) we managed to entertain her the whole way. Everyone was relieved, especially the "dignified" man sitting next to Shannon who thought his elbow room included twelve inches of Shannon's seat. He wouldn't even acknowledge us the whole flight. Liana decided to thank him in a moment of excitement by kicking the DVD player, which knocked over Shannon's orange juice into his lap. Payback? Even though our delays eliminated our Charlotte layover, Liana finally fell asleep when we got on the plane again and slept all the way to Jacksonville. A sigh of relief . Our little girl is getting so good.
In Jacksonville she might have well been at Chuckie Cheese. Uncle Bill and Auntie Amy had the whole living room set up for her with balls, blocks, houses to play in, cats to chase...see ya later Mom and Dad.
We had a great visit. She loved the zoo, pointing at all the animals. Her favorite seemed to be the ostrich, as he was one of the few animals actually moving. The "drive-in" beach was a tad windy, but she didn't seem to mind at all. She didn't stop shrieking with excitement the whole time in the water. Even when Daddy let a wave knock her over. Sorry...
We all had a great, relaxing trip. Thanks Bill and Amy for everything!
Liana didn't know whether to play in the water or eat the giant fistfuls of sand that she found tasty. She decided on both.
All I'm gonna say is "Heeeeeeeeee!!!"
Liana seeing her godparents, Bill and Amy for the first time since June.
Uncle Bill was a little scary at times, but his goofiness always made her laugh.
Mommy and Li trying not to get blown away by the wind.
Daddy keeping a closer hold after the six inch wave knocked her over.
